It is a Muslim prerequesite that the meat which is to be consumed is slaughtered in accordance with the Halal tradition as outlined in the above verse of The Qur'an.
As one of the leading Halal meat suppliers in the United Kingdom, The Group takes the responsibility of ensuring that animals have undergone the Halal method of slaughter very seriously.
'Halal' written in Arabic
We have a commitment to making sure our products are Halal and we are regularly inspected by third-party bodies such as the Muslim Societies whom we have gained approval from.
In order for the meat to be deemed Halal, it has to be slaughtered by a trained Muslim slaughterman with a single swipe across the neck (in order to minimise the pain to the animal) and the Muslim slaughterman should slaughter pronouncing the name of Allah (God). (Note: The method is not fully outlined on this site)
Further info on the halal method of slaughter can be found at: www.halalfoodauthority.co.uk
The Halal method is conducted by a licensed Muslim slaughterman within the English and EEC regualtions and legislation.
